Unity Hospice WI is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a part-time remote role in Wisconsin. The position involves calculating, processing, and collecting payments for hospice services with a 20-hour week schedule.

The ideal candidate has Medicare billing experience, strong problem-solving and customer service skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, physicians, and insurance providers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience.
• Part A and Part B Medicare billing experience required.
• 3–5 years of customer service experience.
• Experience with CMS rules and regulations for both professional and facility settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit patient and insurance billing for hospice services.
• Complete full billing process and timely claim submission.
• Submit prior authorizations as needed.
• Enter Medicare and Medicaid Notices of Election; support terminations.
• Review and post EOBs for accuracy.
• Follow up on submitted claims and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers and patients to support timely reimbursements.
