Job summary

Gen-Z for Change is seeking a part-time developer to build and maintain user-friendly applications that empower our audience, using Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will work with the Strategy Department to design interactive tools and ensure accessibility while aligning with our civic engagement mission.

The role emphasizes developing back-end or full-stack solutions, integrating APIs, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

Portfolio of creative & technical projects.
Experience developing back-end or full-stack applications.
Experience in Python, including common libraries (numpy, pandas, etc.).
Experience with GitHub.
Experience building & incorporating APIs into projects.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with cloud computing & containerization.
Willingness to pick up new technologies to expand digital organizing.
Understanding of grassroots organizing and social issues.
Understanding of ongoing fights in youth, labor, reproductive, climate, immigration, or tech spaces preferred.
Curiosity, creative problem-solving, and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

Ideate, design, and develop interactive, responsive, accessible applications with the Strategy Department’s development team.
Maintain and update existing digital tools, address issues promptly.
Maintain written documentation of new digital tools.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and feedback reviews to improve tools.
Experiment with new technologies to enhance tools’ effectiveness and efficiency.
Attend weekly All Hands meetings and Strategy Department meetings.
Initiate meetings and communicate with the Senior Director of Strategy to keep projects moving.
