Job summary

Caxy is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join our Chicago team. You will work on building new digital products from the ground up, collaborating with cross-functional teams and product managers to deliver impactful web experiences for clients.

The role emphasizes agile practices, open source values, and a strong focus on code quality, performance, and maintainability. You will pair with designers and engineers to push the boundaries of web technology.

Responsibilities

  • Solve toughest problems and build custom sites/applications for web and mobile.
  • Provide support for existing client applications and websites.
  • Write high quality, well-designed, maintainable, and testable code.

  • Gather specs with PM/Product Owner and document deliverables.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and project planning.
  • Monitor performance and optimize for speed and scalability.

Senior Full Stack Software Developer

Caxy is a Product Development Studio that creates and delivers new digital products for our clients to open up new markets and revolutionize their businesses. As a Senior Developer at Caxy, you will have the unique opportunity to build something from the ground up as opposed to continually fixing or tweaking something built long before you arrived. Our Senior Full Stack Developers exhibit these competences:

  • Proficient to expert in object-oriented programming
  • Expert in CSS and HTML
  • Proficient to expert in MySQL, MSSQL, or NoSQL
  • Proficient to expert in Javascript
  • Proficient to expert in responsive web development.
  • Proficient to expert at working with version control workflows (Git, SVN, etc...).
  • Proficient to expert at working in advanced Javascript frameworks like React, Angular, NodeJS
  • Proficient to expert at asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
  • Proficient to expert FE build tools and CSS preprocessors (Gulp, Webpack, Grunt, SASS, LESS, etc...).
  • Nice to have - familiarity with JavaScript unit testing frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, etc.)
  • Nice to have - familiarity with usability / accessibility standards

Responsibilities for a Senior Software Developer include:

  • Solving the toughest problems
  • Building custom, often innovative sites, applications, and services for web and mobile in accordance with established success criteria.
  • Providing support for, and maintaining existing client applications and websites.
  • Creating high quality, well designed, efficient and testable code in accordance with current industry standards and company best practice guidelines.
  • Upholding company established code testing, review, and QA procedures and best practices.
  • Gathering specifications and product requirements with the support of a PM/Product Owner.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive product documentation for client deliverables.
  • Contributing to estimation, technology considerations, architecture and product planning exercises for client deliverables.
  • Monitoring website performance with special focus on site usability - identify ways to resolve inefficiencies and optimize application for speed and scalability.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as requested.
