Job summary

Prism Collective, a small remote accounting firm serving small businesses, is hiring a part-time bookkeeper in the greater Chicago area. Qualifications

• Bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred, especially with QuickBooks Online.
• Strong thinking, problem solving, and communication skills emphasized.
• Interest in working in a small, flexible remote team.

Responsibilities

• Weekly transaction review and bookkeeping.
• Monthly reconciliations and close.
• Investigating discrepancies and unusual activity.
• W-9 collection and year-end preparation.
• Creating and maintaining detailed SOPs.
• Helping with new-client onboarding and cleanup projects.
• Flagging questions, inconsistencies, and things that don’t make sense.
• Communicating clearly by email when client contact is needed.
