Qualifications

• Must have a paralegal certificate or a minimum of 6 months experience in drafting discovery documents and discovery responses, summarizing claims files and medical records and interviewing clients
• Minimum typing speed of 28 wpm with 95% accuracy
• Familiarity with general office equipment including calculator, fax machine, and copy machine
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Prior PC experience
• Knowledge of word processing software; Word and Excel preferred
• Knowledge of law office management, time billing, and legal research software preferred
• Must reside in the Alpharetta surrounding areas
• Must work mostly remotely and report occasionally to the office

Responsibilities

• Provide general paralegal support for the Alpharetta office
• Assist attorneys with preparing responses to discovery, including meeting with clients when necessary
• Assist with preparing cases for trial
• Send discovery requests
• Monitor discovery compliance by all parties and prepare motions as appropriate
• Assist attorneys with case investigations
• Obtain medical, insurance, employment, and other records or information through record requests or subpoenas
• Assist with drafting motions, briefs, and other documents
• Communicate with clients, claims adjusters, litigation specialists, attorneys' offices, medical provider offices, police departments, courts, and agents to request information and documentation
• Set up legal file jackets
• Maintain summaries of records received by case for attorneys and claims personnel
• Perform legal research at attorneys' request
