Charter Impact is seeking a Director of Client Finance to oversee service delivery and act as an outsourced CFO for clients. This role ensures GAAP compliance, budgets, forecasts, audits, and grant reporting across the Charter Impact Teams, with travel up to 25% and remote‑first flexibility for national candidates.

The successful candidate will bring 7+ years of experience, leadership and strong communication skills, and will support client staff on internal controls and financial operations in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Master's degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desired.
• 7 years of experience, with staff oversight is required.
• CPA is highly desired but not required.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting or charter school finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial and accounting services and direct Charter Impact Teams in financial statement prep, AP, AR, grant reporting, and ad hoc reporting.
• Review financial statements for GAAP compliance.
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts with insights into financial condition.
• Oversee audits including work papers and liaising with auditors.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all compliance reporting.
• Serve as fiscal liaison to Authorizers, Counties, State and Federal Agencies.
• Provide training to client staff on internal controls.
