Job summary

Rust Automation & Controls in Hayward/Dublin, CA is hiring Outside Sales Engineers into a new cohort program. You'll spend twelve weeks split between Salt Lake City with leadership and in your home territory, riding with experienced salespeople, learning the products, and setting appointments.

You’re hired full-time from day one. You’ll be the engineer’s trusted contact when selecting flow meters and valves for long-running systems, building relationships with customers and manufacturers,

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 2-3 years of industrial sales experience.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory, including overnight travel.
• Self-motivated with ambitious goal setting and coachable attitude.
• Strong desire to learn, grow, and be coachable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Learn and maintain working knowledge of all products and solutions offered by Rust Automation & Controls
• Prospect and promote products within assigned commercial, industrial, and municipal accounts
• Grow territory sales and gross margin by increasing penetration in existing accounts and establishing relationships with new customers
• Analyze specifications and requirements to prepare quotations with Inside Sales
• Conduct joint sales calls with management and manufacturing partners to strengthen relationships
• Perform site walkdowns to assess needs and tailor solutions
• Maintain a robust CRM database including accounts, contacts, opportunities, and projects
• Clearly articulate customer solutions and collaborate with internal teams for execution
