Responsibilities

• Identifies all diagnostic and operative procedures for coding by reviewing the medical record.
• Assigns diagnostic and procedural codes in accordance with coding principles and guidelines.
• Verifies documentation to support compliance and resolve discrepancies.
• Performs charge entry when appropriate.
• Ensures completeness of medical records and interacts with staff for clarification.
