Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a part-time Remote Orientation and Mobility Specialist for a K–12 school setting within the Hart County Charter System. You’ll support learners with visual impairments through tailored instruction and individualized strategies, collaborating with educators, specialists, and families to meet each student’s needs.

Qualifications

• Must have Orientation and Mobility Specialist Certification.
• Completed accredited Orientation and Mobility training program with fieldwork requirements.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans and instruct students with visual impairments.
• Implement IEPs, individualized interventions, and classroom accommodations.
• Build a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with school-based Exceptional Children's/Special Education teams, behavior specialists, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and team planning sessions.
