Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network seeks a Donation Liaison to coordinate organ and tissue donation with hospitals across our service area. You will work with internal and external partners to ensure donors and families are offered the opportunity for donation, guiding policy, evaluation, and family support throughout the process.

The role requires compassionate communication, the ability to manage multiple cases, and willingness to travel to hospitals in Illinois and northwest Indiana,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in allied healthcare field, business admin, education, advocacy, or related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with families of potential donors.
• Comfort with emotional distress, dying, and death.
• Ability to travel across the service area and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission and maintain positive culture.
• Respond to organ/tissue referrals at hospitals in the DSA.
• Conduct on-sites/phone evaluations and review hospital charts.
• Participate in medical rounds with neuro/trauma services.
• Counsel families and guide them through the donation process.
• Develop rapport with donor families and hospital staff.
• Collaborate with Donor Resource Center and AOC as needed.
• Engage in departmental quality assurance initiatives.
