Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a talented GoldenGate Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Oracle GoldenGate and SQL Server solutions to support Veterans Affairs operations. This role leads database architecture and performance improvements, and is fully remote within the United States.

You will work with Azure data replication, security, and documentation, partnering with stakeholders across technical and business teams to ensure data integrity and availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience or commensurate.
• Expert-level, hands-on Oracle GoldenGate experience.
• Strong SQL Server experience with performance tuning, T-SQL, and stored procedures.
• Solid understanding of relational database theory and advanced SQL.
• Experience with database security, backup/recovery, and API integration for automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level Oracle GoldenGate support across Classic and Microservices architectures.
• Design and maintain relational database structures, backups, and access controls.
• Execute Azure-to-CDW automated replication workflows using Oracle GoldenGate.
• Troubleshoot issues with minimal operational disruption.
• Author and edit technical documentation; follow change control processes.
• Ramp up on Veterans Affairs Corporate Data Warehouse operations and adapt to new tools/tech.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
