Job summary

Cayenta is seeking a Technical Consultant with strong Oracle DBA experience to join our Managed Services team. You will administer Oracle 19c databases, including RAC and Data Guard, and be responsible for tuning, patching, and high-availability maintenance.

You will support production environments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively with customers. This is a remote role welcoming candidates in the US and Canada, with PST timezone preference.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and supporting Oracle 19c databases, including RAC and Data Guard.
• Experience with Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Clusterware, and ASM.
• Proficient in Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) administration and shell scripting for automation.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities for customer-facing support.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Oracle 19c databases and RAC environments.
• Manage Data Guard standby databases, including monitoring redo transport and apply.
• Perform Grid Infrastructure patching, upgrades, and maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Monitor availability, performance, and capacity; tune SQL and DB configuration.
• Support backup/recovery using RMAN and participate in disaster recovery planning.
