Job summary

Vital IT Services is seeking a talented Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Application Engineering department. This role focuses on writing clean, secure, and efficient code to rapidly deliver features across active product and time-and-material client queues.

Responsibilities include feature implementation, defect resolution, API integration, testing discipline, and active sprint participation. Hybrid/remote flexibility applies, with offices in Allen, TX and Oak Ridge, TN.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of verified full-stack or backend software engineering experience in an Agile team environment.
• Strong proficiency in C# within a Microsoft tech stack.
• Experience writing optimized SQL / MySQL queries.
• Excellent Git version control and branching skills.
• Ability to transform defined requirements into live software with minimal architectural guidance.

Responsibilities

• Feature implementation and delivery of well-structured, testable code.
• Defect resolution and performance improvement across SaaS platforms and client apps.
• Build and consume secure web services and APIs as per architectural guidelines.
• Maintain code quality through unit/integration tests and peer reviews.
• Support sprint hygiene by accurately estimating tasks and updating Jira.
