Job summary

Sugpiat Group, LLC is seeking an Operations Lead and Technical Lead in Beltsville, MD for full-time remote work within the Beltsville area. This role combines program management with hands-on supervision of contractor technical staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory operations.

The position requires 5+ years in technical roles with at least 2 years leading teams, plus strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a maintenance, construction, laboratory-support, or related technical role.
• At least two (2) years of experience as a crew leader, supervisor, or lead responsible for trades personnel.
• Experience supervising skilled-trades, maintenance, construction, fabrication, or technical staff and coordinating daily work.
• Experience tracking work requests, project activity, materials, and supporting records in a controlled environment.
• Experience obtaining vendor estimates and supporting procurement, expense documentation, and project cost controls.
• Proficiency with computerized material, inventory, work-order, or maintenance-management systems and MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Program and Personnel Management: supervise contractor technical staff; plan, assign, and monitor daily work; ensure staffing and records.
• Laboratory and Technical Operations: oversee maintenance, fabrication, test-bed work, and related activities.
• Work Request and Records Management: manage work requests, documentation, and project records for contract performance.
• Material and Supply Management: track materials, inventory, and project requirements using MMS or similar systems.
• Procurement and Cost Control: solicit estimates, administer purchases, and reconcile project costs.
• Reporting and Government Coordination: prepare status reports and coordinate with government personnel.
