Job summary

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) seeks a mathematically skilled professional to support Criminal Investigation through advanced data analysis. The role focuses on applying statistical methods to evaluate programs, identify non-compliance, and predict the impact of actions.

Based in Anchorage, Alaska, the position offers a day shift schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00 am–4:30 pm), a 40-hour work week, and telework eligibility. A competitive pay range is posted.

Qualifications

• A college or university degree generally required, recognized by US DOE.
• Foreign education may satisfy requirements with equivalence evidence.
• Evaluation from NACES or AICE recommended.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes efficiency of CI programs using mathematical and statistical methods.
• Conducts operational research on tax administration problems with analytical models.
• Develops methods to identify non-compliance and fraud potential.
• Formulates economic theories in mathematical terms for statistical testing.
• Provides leadership in data collection, study methodology, and analysis.
