We are seeking an OpenShift Platform Engineer for a remote position with a contract-to-hire engagement and a duration of six or more months. In this role, you will design, build, secure, and operate Red Hat OpenShift container platforms across on-premises, private, and public cloud environments. You will own the cluster lifecycle, automate provisioning and operations through Infrastructure as Code and GitOps, partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams, and mentor teammates to build a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

- Design reference architectures and reusable building blocks for OpenShift clusters, including networking, storage, and multi-tenancy configurations
- Define best practices for application onboarding, container images, and resource management
- Meet with customers and respond to RFQs and compliance questions to review technical implementation of security controls in core infrastructure
- Work closely with engineering partners and implementation teams to identify pain points and deliver platform capabilities
- Analyze capacity, utilization, and cost trends; implement right-sizing and autoscaling improvements
- Evaluate new OpenShift releases, Operators, and complementary tools; define roadmaps for adoption
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and scale OpenShift clusters across on-premises, private, and public cloud environments
- Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and GitOps tools such as Argo CD
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton), Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions
