Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Odessa, Texas, seeks an Insurance Authorization Specialist to support the Laboratory Department. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree in Healthcare; LPN license is preferred.
Minimum three years medical insurance verification and authorization experience is preferred.
Sr level requires three years verification and two years of clinical review experience.

Responsibilities

Review chemotherapy regimens for medical necessity and pathway adherence.
Obtain pre-certifications and exceptions to ensure timely reimbursement.
Communicate with nursing and medical staff about insurance plan restrictions.
Obtain insurance authorization for chemotherapy services and liaise between patient and payer.
Research additional resources for non-covered services to prevent denials.
Maintain knowledge of payer guidelines and confidentiality requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
