Qualifications

• Minimum three years medical insurance verification and authorization experience.
• Experience with chemotherapy authorization preferred.
• Familiarity with payer guidelines and coding processes.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical necessity for chemotherapy treatment and documents adherence to pathways.
• Communicates with nursing and medical staff on insurance restrictions and payer issues.
• Updates payer guidelines for clinical staff and tracks treatment pathways.
• Obtains insurance authorization/pre-certification for chemotherapy services.
• Acts as liaison between patient and payer to answer reimbursement questions.
