Job summary

OneOncology is seeking an experienced Insurance Billing Specialist to manage accounts receivable, follow up on denials, file re-claims, and communicate with patients, physicians, and insurers to ensure timely payments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in medical collections, with knowledge of HCPCS/ICD/CPT coding, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and oncology billing experience. High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Remote-friendly RCM team support is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical collections required, preferably in an Oncology healthcare setting.
• Radiation Oncology/Proton experience a plus.
• Expertise in insurance policies and regulations related to medical billing, including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Detailed knowledge of billing, HCPCS, CPT and ICD codes.

Responsibilities

• Manages AR in the 45+ day category and reviews EOBs within two weeks.
• Documents collection activity and prioritizes collection actions.
• Contacts payers to resolve delinquencies and follows up with patients on self-pay balances.
• Reviews claim edits and corrects for clean claim submissions.
• Prepares daily reports for supervisor and collaborates with RCM team to ensure timely payment.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of oncology coding and carrier requirements.
