Job summary

Latitude IT Solutions is hiring an OCI Cloud Security Engineer to implement and validate the security posture of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for a federal health customer. You will work with system admins, application teams, and project teams to build, operate, and harden cloud workloads, owning OCI-native security controls on a remote team.

The role emphasizes implementing Cloud Guard, Security Zones, and Threat Intelligence, plus key management across OCI storage, databases, and SaaS data,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience; 6+ years in cloud security engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on proficiency with OCI security tools and OCI IAM.
• Proficiency with IaC using Terraform (preferred), OCI Resource Manager, or Ansible.
• Experience integrating OCI logs/events into a SIEM (Splunk/Elastic/Microsoft Sentinel).
• Solid understanding of security for compute, load balancing, WAF, API Gateway, and Functions.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).

Responsibilities

• Implement and validate OCI security posture across IAM policies, network security groups, encryption, and monitoring.
• Design and live OCI-native security controls (Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Threat Intelligence).
• Manage key management for encryption at rest across OCI storage/databases.
• Integrate OCI logs/events into enterprise SIEM and tune for detection.
• Automate security controls with IaC and set technical standards for cloud/on‑prem environments.
