Job Description: Mechanical Engineer - Nuclear Power Plant Projects

Lensa is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Nuclear Power Plant Engineering projects. This remote position is open to candidates in the Central or Eastern Time Zone, supporting a team based in Chicagoland, IL. The role involves working on significant projects, including a $6 million project on the East Coast, within a company known for innovative Life Cycle Management solutions in the Electricity industry.

Key Requirements: Candidates must have Nuclear Design experience.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze problems and manage project elements to complete engineering projects
• Provide expert advice on design processes or construction methods
• Lead investigations on prototypes, models, and systems
• Interpret data from studies and recommend practical applications
• Review complex calculations and design deliverables
• Establish performance specifications for components and systems
• Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products
• Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize work and assess implications
• Develop solutions and define client deliverables
• Approve work schedules and recommend resource adjustments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school
• 8-10+ years relevant experience in Nuclear Design or the Nuclear Industry
• Proficiency in Codes, Standards, and Regulations for Nuclear Power Plant Mechanical Design
• Knowledge of Nuclear Engineering Change Control and Quality Assurance Standards
• Effective communication skills and ability to interface with station customers

Work Environment & Benefits:

This is a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. The pay rate ranges from $57.70 to $76.92 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, and more, subject to eligibility and company policies.
