Job summary

Westinghouse is seeking an Engineer - Nuclear-Level 2 on a 1-year W-2 contract. The role focuses on design modifications, NEI process implementation, and regulatory compliance within nuclear power plant projects. You will report to the onsite manager and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.

The position is remote with proximity to a Westinghouse client site. Requires 4+ years in nuclear power and familiarity with 10 CFR 50.59 processes; NECI/I&C experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or I&C Engineering is required.
• Minimum of four years in nuclear power plant experience with NEI Standard Design Process exposure.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards is expected.
• Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 determinations and screening processes.
• Experience with nuclear power plant systems and safety objectives.

Responsibilities

• Design modifications for upgrades and obsolete equipment issues with varying complexity.
• Oversee system modifications across vendors and interfaces between legacy and modern systems, ensuring nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate project execution with operations, engineering teams, external vendors, and regulatory agencies as the primary technical contact.
• Apply NEI Standard Design Process and nuclear configuration management to ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Mentor engineering personnel on nuclear electrical/I&C concepts and digital technology applications.
