Job summary

Analytica is seeking a Data Scientist to support long term federal client engagements in the DC Metro area. The role will apply statistical programming, modeling, visualization techniques, data mining, and forecasting skills to analyze challenging public sector problems. This position is fully remote.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; PhD preferred in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar.
• Experience with SAS, R, or Python for NLP tasks like Document Summarization, NER, Sentiment Analysis, or Topic Modeling.
• At least four years developing scalable, production-ready NLP solutions using scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark NLP.
• Proficient with Git for version control of source code.
• Experience leveraging transformer architectures to develop NLP models.
• Experience with open-source NLP packages such as Gensim, SpaCy, or NLTK.
• Experience with BERT, GPT-J, RoBERTa, T5 or other transformers.
• Experience with GenAI and Prompt Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with Databricks and MLFlow is a plus.
• Experience with machine translation and transcription using Microsoft Azure translation services is a plus.
• Experience working in an AWS cloud environment with Bedrock and Textract.
• Experience coordinating and maintaining user stories.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Pre-processing data using Python, including stop word removal, stemming, lemmatization, and tokenization.
• Feature engineering and evaluation with NLP methods like TF-IDF, word2vec, GloVe, and FastText.
• Modeling with supervised/unsupervised ML, regression, neural networks and deep learning, NLP.
• Validation: investigate, report, and justify model results.
• Visualization of results and communication of insights to stakeholders.
