Job summary

Eastport Analytics in Washington, DC, is seeking a Data Scientist to transform complex data into actionable insights for federal investigators and regulators.

You will leverage Python and SQL to build scalable data models, perform advanced analytics, and present findings to senior leadership with clear storytelling and visuals. This role supports remote work with quarterly in-person meetings in the Washington, DC area, and a background check for Public Trust is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field; advanced degrees preferred.
• 2+ years in a data science role, federal/regulatory experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for complex data projects.
• Experience with data warehousing and large-scale datasets.
• Knowledge of stats, regression, and AI/ML workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop databases and data collection systems with documented SQL models.
• Perform data wrangling, EDA, and feature engineering on large datasets.
• Apply statistical methods to deliver actionable insights for leadership.
• Create data visualizations and executive-ready briefings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights.
• Manage multiple high-priority projects under deadlines.
