Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking an experienced Professional, Application Designer to drive the NCPDP F6 implementation for a state Medicaid pharmacy program. You will lead end-to-end development, collaborate with analysts and engineers, and ensure compliant transaction processing.

The role emphasizes design, coding, testing, and deployment across SDLC with strong focus on EDI, MMIS, and healthcare data exchange. Remote work from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive software development experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of NCPDP standards including D.0 and F6
• Proficiency in Java, C#, or COBOL
• Experience with EDI processing, MMIS and pharmacy claims
• Strong SQL, XML, data transformation and system interfaces
• Excellent analytical, design, debugging and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead SDLC for NCPDP F6 implementation from analysis to deployment
• Collaborate with analysts, architects and QA to translate requirements
• Design and maintain complex application code for F6 transactions
• Update modules for new NCPDP field definitions and rules
• Validate mappings and data transformations with domain experts
• Create technical documentation and design artifacts
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews
• Support unit, integration, UAT, deployment and production stabilization
