Job summary

AuraOne is seeking a remote Japanese specialist to evaluate model outputs for fluency, formality, and cultural accuracy. You will compare paired Japanese responses, write rationale, and flag issues according to a rubric.

The role requires strong Japanese proficiency, plus the ability to reason clearly and document edge cases for ongoing model improvements. Ideal candidates will have experience editing or evaluating Japanese content, reliable weekly async availability, and comfort applying

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Japanese fluency with strong written-English ability.
• Experience editing, translating, or evaluating Japanese content.
• Ability to apply multi-page rubrics consistently across long evaluation batches.
• Clear written reasoning naming the issue and the standard.
• Reliable async availability for at least 10 hours per week.
• Prior model-evaluation, annotation, or human-rater experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate Japanese model responses for fluency, accuracy, register, and cultural fit for PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts - Japanese assignments.
• Compare paired Japanese annotation outputs and pick the stronger response with a written rationale.
• Flag hallucinations, code-switching errors, and formality mismatches with task-specific severity tags.
• Capture native-speaker edits that demonstrate the correct phrasing alongside each issue.
• Calibrate against the AuraOne Japanese rubric in weekly reviewer-quality cycles.
• Surface ambiguous prompts back to the program team so the rubric can be sharpened.
• Maintain reviewer notes that document tricky idioms, regionalisms, and emerging usage.
