Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC seeks skilled translators for remote independent-contractor roles translating across education, legal, medical, environmental, and social services. We require fluency in multiple languages including Arabic, Farsi, Ilonggo, Mandarin, Swahili, and Vietnamese.

Responsibilities include translating spoken content, transcribing, reading original documents, and editing translations. Candidates must pass background checks and thrive in a self-start, team-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• High School/BA Degree/ or equivalent in years of experience
• Medical Interpreting Training School
• Foreign Service Institute
• Legal Translation online certifications
• Must be fluent in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, Farsi, Ilonggo, Mandarin, Swahili, and Vietnamese
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
• The ability to facilitate communication with discretion and impartiality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately translate spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings.
• Utilizing technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings.
• Reading an original document and translating it into the language required.
• Editing translated versions
• Will need to be sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process
• Other duties as assigned.
