Job summary

Michigan Connections Academy (MICA) seeks an Elementary Interventionist to support MTSS and RTI in a virtual K-12 environment across Michigan. The role involves planning and delivering targeted interventions and coordinating supports for students identified as needing extra help.

Collaboration with teachers and specialists is essential to improve learning outcomes. Responsibilities include data-driven decision making, SST facilitation, and maintaining accurate records while supporting families

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in the required subject matter and grade band.
• A minimum of 5 years fulltime successful teaching experience in the required subject matter and grade band.
• Michigan Residency Preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Customer focused approach.
• High degree of flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products).
• Travel and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing is required throughout the school year, which may require overnight travel.
• Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support families.

Responsibilities

• Utilize MTSS/RTI data to identify students needing additional support and plan targeted interventions.
• Coordinate push-in and pull-out instructional support.
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers to implement MTSS interventions.
• Design and implement strategies to promote academic, social, and emotional growth for identified students.
• Monitor progress and refine Tier 1–3 supports based on data and district policies.
