Job summary

Chemelex is seeking an experienced MRO Buyer to procure maintenance, repair, and operations materials and services for our Texas/Mexico operations. This role ensures timely purchases, optimal inventory levels, and cost control while coordinating with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse, Engineering and Finance teams.

The position is based in the McAllen area with potential to travel to Reynosa, Mexico, and occasionally Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent
• Minimum 8+ years of purchasing and procurement experience for MRO materials
• Experience with inventory management in manufacturing environments
• Experience with technical suppliers, maintenance contractors, and industrial equipment vendors
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Proficient with ERP systems and data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Procure MRO materials, spare parts, consumables, tools and services.
• Create, issue, and monitor purchase orders for on-time delivery.
• Ensure availability of materials to support production and maintenance.
• Expedite purchases to minimize downtime and outages.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse, Engineering and Finance on supplier performance and policy compliance.
• Manage supplier evaluation, qualification, pricing, terms and agreements.
