Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic Engineer to join the Cordant Services RM&D team in North America, ideally based in Minden, Nevada. The role focuses on remote machinery monitoring using vibration, temperature, and process data, delivering reports, and coordinating with SMEs to resolve issues.

The candidate will review notifications, log cases, and prepare technical reports for customers while adhering to Cordant Services guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Condition Monitoring in a similar customer delivery role.
• ISO Cat II Vibration Analysis Certification.
• Knowledge of mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration, rotor dynamics, balancing and alignment.
• Ability to interpret machinery drawings and specifications.
• Experience monitoring various plant machine types including bearings.
• Experience with on/off-line condition monitoring systems and transducers.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Background in plant operations, OEM experience, or industrial co-op is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review remote machinery and system notifications and assess data to validate potential issues.
• Log and track issues using the web-based case management portal.
• Produce technical exceptions and periodic reports for presentation to the customer.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to resolve complex machinery and system-related issues.
• Execute work according to Cordant Services guidelines.
