Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking Mobile Inspectors to perform on-site vehicle inspections for dealer clients within a remote, assigned territory in California. Roles vary by level and pay scales reflect geographic multipliers.

Responsibilities include thorough inspections, accurate documentation, data entry, and dealer relationship building to grow participation in mobile inspection services. Valid license and safe driving record required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimal automotive knowledge acceptable for Level 1.
• 0–1 years automotive experience preferred for Level 1.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections per inspection standards and document results.
• Safely move and document vehicles on dealer lots.
• Accurately enter VINs, mileage, and options into systems.
• Develop knowledge of inspection standards and client expectations.
• Collaborate with dealers to grow inspection participation.
