Job summary

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Mission-Critical Outage Support Specialist to provide rapid 24x7x365 response, coordination, root-cause support, and status reporting for critical outages affecting DoD enterprise infrastructure.

The role requires on-call availability, DoD Secret clearance, and experience with outage war rooms, incident management, and ServiceNow documentation. This is a fully remote position with Columbus as a remote work location.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of progressive information technology experience.
• Three years supporting hardware, software, infrastructure, or enterprise service operations.
• Two years diagnosing and resolving technical problems in enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting major incidents, priority-one outages, war rooms, restoration, and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7x365 on-call support for mission-critical outages.
• Coordinate outage war rooms and technical response teams.
• Maintain chronological outage timelines and documentation.
• Provide regular status updates to Government representatives and ITOC.
• Participate in daily Scrum and report outage status and actions.
• Ensure all ServiceNow records are current with outage documentation.
• Support post-event reviews and lessons-learned activities.
• Transfer outage procedures and playbooks during transition-out.
