Job summary

GovCIO seeks an experienced Information Protection Engineer to lead DLP and labeling initiatives across Microsoft 365. You will design and implement policies, monitor compliance, and collaborate with security, compliance, and business stakeholders to safeguard sensitive agency data while enabling secure collaboration.

The role emphasizes Microsoft Purview DLP, sensitivity labels, and integration with AI security considerations. Remote-ready with federal compliance focus.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years of hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Information Protection technologies.
• Experience administering DLP, Purview DLP, and sensitivity labels in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Compliance and Security solutions.
• Experience supporting CUI or similar information classification programs.
• Ability to develop and maintain data protection policies and controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Purview DLP policies across Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop and tune DLP controls to protect sensitive organizational data from unauthorized disclosure or exfiltration.
• Analyze emerging technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) for impact on DLP controls and security.
• Support deployment of DLP controls for new applications and platforms.
• Perform policy testing, validation, and user acceptance prior to production deployment.
• Investigate and resolve DLP incidents and user requests; conduct periodic policy reviews.
