Job summary

NCFE is seeking Moderators for its External Quality Assurance team on a flexible worker contract dedicated to the T Level Technical Qualification in Health (Occupational Specialism supporting Midwifery). The role focuses on reviewing centre-marked work, applying QA principles, and delivering constructive feedback to maintain national standards.

Ideal candidates will have strong midwifery background, teaching or assessing experience, and a track record in quality assurance.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in midwifery or a closely related subject area.
• Current or recent occupational experience working within the midwifery sector.
• Experience of teaching, assessing, internal quality assuring and/or moderating vocational or academic qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of assessment and quality assurance processes.
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct moderation activities in line with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.
• Attend standardisation and team meetings as required.
• Review centre marking to ensure assessment decisions are accurate, consistent and meet required standards.
• Produce clear, accurate and timely moderation reports within agreed SLAs.
• Plan and manage moderation activity for allocated centres in line with sampling strategies and quality assurance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying areas for development and sharing best practice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the qualification, assessment requirements and your subject-specialist area.
