Job summary

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Middleware Engineer to support a DoD ICAM initiative. This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying custom middleware solutions, integrating legacy apps with Okta IdP and SailPoint IIQ, and ensuring security and scalability in a federal environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software or systems engineering, at least 3 years in middleware, active Secret clearance, and the ability to work remotely with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on software or systems engineering experience, with at least 3 years in middleware development, API engineering, or enterprise app integration.
• Experience designing and developing custom integration solutions including REST APIs, SOAP, adapters, or middleware components.
• Experience integrating apps with enterprise identity platforms using SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or SCIM.
• Active Secret clearance (CAC/NIPRNet access requirements).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom middleware solutions and integration components for ICAM enablement.
• Develop connectors and APIs to integrate legacy apps with Okta IdP and SailPoint IIQ.
• Analyze legacy authentication architectures and design middleware to bridge to modern ICAM capabilities (SAML/OIDC/OAuth/SCIM).
• Create reusable libraries and sample code to accelerate onboarding across engagements.
• Provide guidance to application owners and support migration engineers with integration pathways and risk analyses.
