Job summary

Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA), a K12 partner school with Stride Inc., seeks a Middle School Science Instructional Coach to support teachers and school leaders in a virtual PBL classroom. This role focuses on individual and group professional learning to enhance research-based instruction and student outcomes.

The coach will work under the Instructional Methods Advisor to build effective teaching practices across the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education; five years of successful teaching experience or equivalent.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Ability to pass required background check.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements well organized individual and group learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders.
Models effective and differentiated instruction for teachers.
Creates and delivers ongoing professional development for teachers and school leaders.
Assists teachers in aligning their instruction with strong teaching methods, standards, and student data.
Observes teachers and school leaders and provides meaningful feedback and coaching.
Increases teacher effectiveness by improving the quality of teaching and learning through ongoing support to teachers.
Equips staff with resources and skills needed to implement effective instructional practices.
Assists teachers and school leaders with implementing instructional decisions based on student data.
Assists in implementing assessment and grading practices.
