Job summary

Pennant Education is seeking a reliable, experienced Math tutor for live, online, one-on-one sessions with children and teens. The role focuses on middle and high school Math within the U.S. K-12 framework, conducted remotely with a recurring weekly schedule.

The ideal tutor will have at least 1 year of online tutoring, strong communication and time-management skills, and flexibility for a part-time schedule after 4:00 PM ET. Teaching from home and consistent weekly appointments are expected.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Math teaching or tutoring experience online with children or teens.
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. K-12 Math curriculum for middle and high school.
• Comfortable with online teaching technology and reliable internet.
• Flexible part-time schedule with consistent weekday availability from 4:00 PM ET onward.
• Teach from home and lead live, one-on-one lessons.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one Math instruction based on student level, needs, and goals.
• Support school coursework, strengthen foundational skills, and address gaps.
• Explain challenging concepts clearly and adapt explanations as needed.
• Encourage problem-solving, independent thinking, and confidence in Math.
• Maintain a consistent schedule, arrive prepared and on time, and complete attendance/lesson notes.
• Occasionally provide substitute coverage when schedule allows.
