Qualifications

• Five or more years of title examination experience.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan real property records and title examination practices.
• Experience researching county land records and other public records.
• Ability to interpret deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, and court filings.
• Knowledge of title insurance underwriting principles and curative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze Michigan title examinations to identify defects, risks, and issues affecting ownership or marketability.
• Research deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, probate records, plats, court filings, and other records.
• Apply underwriting guidelines and company standards to produce accurate title examinations and reports.
• Evaluate title risks and determine insurability based on underwriting practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third‑party providers to resolve title issues and support underwriting.
• Prepare and deliver accurate title reports and supporting search documentation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and team members throughout the title examination process.
