your Jared is seeking a Metadata & Data Catalog Specialist to support the AO CMM program, modernizing governance across 204+ federal courts in the United States. Location: Any Location / Remote.

GDIT-led initiative focuses on data governance, cataloging, lineage, and AI/ML capabilities to enable self-service analytics. The role requires 7+ years of specialized experience in metadata and governance, with collaborative work across data stewards, security, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• MA/MS degree with 5+ years of information systems experience.
• 7+ years of specialized experience in metadata or data governance.
• Experience supporting enterprise data governance programs.
• Ability to translate governance policy into operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, and data lineage.
• Configure and maintain data governance, catalog, metadata, and lineage platforms.
• Establish metadata standards, naming conventions, and management practices.
• Develop enterprise and domain-level business glossaries.
• Capture business, technical, operational, and governance metadata.
• Create relationships between data assets, terms, data elements, and systems.
• Enable end-to-end data lineage across critical data assets and flows.
• Integrate metadata from source systems, DWs, data lakes, APIs, and BI tools.
• Configure metadata ingestion, scanning, tagging, and discovery.
• Support automated metadata harvesting and synchronization.
• Implement data ownership, stewardship, certification, and approval workflows.
• Onboard new data sources and configure automated harvesting.
• Integrate catalog with governance, data quality, and IT systems.
• Ensure metadata reflects definitions, classifications, ownership, and retention.
• Partner with analysts, stewards, and stakeholders to maintain trusted metadata.
• Support data discovery and self-service access for authorized users.
• Develop dashboards measuring catalog adoption, completeness, and governance maturity.
• Monitor metadata quality and identify gaps or stale metadata.
• Improve metadata management and data discovery capabilities.
