Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a remote Sourcing Commodity Manager focused on memory and storage. You will own technical decisions and cost outcomes, partnering with hardware engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to move designs from concept to mass production.

This engineering-facing role requires hands-on problem solving with supplier teams, ensuring designs are manufacturable, reliable, and scalable for Cisco products in the AI era.

Qualifications

• 7+ years technical experience in memory & storage technologies including design support and manufacturing engagement.
• 10+ years experience with hardware design engineering teams on New Product Introductions (NPI).
• 10+ years experience engaging suppliers on technical development, qualification, manufacturing readiness, cost negotiations, RFQ/RFI processes.

Responsibilities

• Engineering & Technology Alignment: partner with Hardware Design Engineering, Component Engineering, and Manufacturing to align supplier tech with Cisco's roadmap; participate in design reviews evaluating feasibility and manufacturability.
• Supplier Technical Leadership: lead supplier technology roadmap discussions; act as escalation point for design, yield, reliability, and manufacturability issues; hold suppliers to milestones and readiness.
• NPI Execution & Scale Readiness: lead supplier technical readiness from prototype to mass production; facilitate collaboration to resolve design/manufacturing issues; support ramp readiness and yield improvements.
• Value Engineering & Multi-Sourcing: drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising performance; identify and develop second-source strategies.
• Supply Resilience & Risk Management: support geographic diversification and non-China manufacturing strategies; identify risks and mitigation plans with engineering/suppliers.
• Business Reviews & Technical Reporting: lead supplier reviews on readiness, NPI, yield, capacity, risks; provide status updates to leadership.
• Operational Excellence: partner on quality investigations and corrective actions; drive continuous improvement; define technical KPIs for data-driven execution.
