Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a remote HIM coder with at least 5 years of inpatient and outpatient experience to perform compliance audits of medical records. You will review ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding, validate key admission details, and prepare education materials for coders.

You will use 3M and other tools, run reports, and lead Exit Conferences with hospital administrations. Strong communication and research skills are essential for this remote role.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential required.
• Minimum 5 years inpatient and outpatient coding experience in an acute care facility.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding conventions.
• Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Able to research coding questions using internal resources.
• Independent, remote-working capability.

Responsibilities

• Review records to ensure codes align with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT conventions.
• Validate admission dates, origin, patient status, POA, and coder queries for accuracy.
• Utilize 3M and other coding tools to analyze and ensure proper codes and sequencing.
• Run preliminary and final statistical and coder-specific reports.
• Prepare and conduct Exit Conferences with Administration and Coding Staff.
• Prepare summation of Exit Conference and follow-up actions with HIM Director.
