The CSI Companies is hiring a Remote Sr. Risk Adjustment Coding Consultant for our Fortune 100 healthcare client. This job can be worked from anywhere in the US as long as you have high-speed internet and a distraction-free home office area.

Title of Job: Sr. Risk Adjustment Coder – Remote

Pay: Based on years of experience, $22-33 an hour (overtime paid at 1.5x rate).

Hours:

  • After Training: Any 8-hour window between 6am-6pm Central, maintaining a consistent M-F schedule.
  • Training Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Central (fully remote for 2-4 weeks).

Location: Remote, work-from-home, telecommuter

Type: Consultant. Starting as a contractor with no end date, with potential for conversion based on performance and business needs after the first year. This is a long-term position, not short-term.

Effective Date / Start Date: Interviewing immediately; start in September.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Risk Adjustment Coder will provide Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding services for outpatient and inpatient charts, evaluating clinical coding from medical records to ensure accuracy and recommending process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Review medical records to identify ICD-10-CM diagnoses that map to Risk Adjusted HCCs, ensuring documentation meets CMS standards for valid HCC submission.
  • Code diagnoses and services accurately according to ICD-10-CM classification systems.
  • Select and record appropriate data on chart abstraction projects.
  • Participate in clinical documentation improvement initiatives and team meetings to promote quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet client obligations.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of coding experience.
  • Experience with Medicare Risk Adjustment / HCC.
  • Active certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CRC, CCS, CPC, CIC, COC, RHIT, RHIA).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable high-speed internet.
  • Ability to pass background and drug tests.
  • Private, quiet, distraction-free workspace with a closed door.
