Title of Job : Sr. Risk Adjustment Coder – Remote

Pay : Based on years of experience

Hours :

After Training : Hours can be any 8 hours between 6am-6pm Central, as long as you maintain a consistent M-F schedule.

Training Hours : M-F 8am-5pm Central

Location : Remote, work-from-home, telecommuter

Job Summary

The Sr. Risk Adjustment Coder will provide Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding services for outpatient and inpatient charts.

This role involves evaluating clinical coding from medical records to ensure accurate coding of encounter data and recommending processes to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities :

• Review medical records to identify ICD-10-CM diagnoses that map to Risk-Adjusted HCCs, ensuring documentation meets CMS standards for valid HCC submission.
• Code all diagnoses and services accurately and completely, following ICD-10-CM classification systems.
• Select and record all relevant data on chart abstraction projects.
• Participate in clinical documentation improvement initiatives and team meetings to promote quality.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and security of systems.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet client obligations.

Experience :

• Minimum 2 years of coding experience
• Medicare Risk Adjustment / HCC experience (or equivalent)
• Active certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CRC, CCS, CPC, CIC, COC, RHIT, RHIA)
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable high-speed internet connection
• Ability to pass background check and drug test
• Private, quiet, distraction-free workspace with a closed door
• Candidates with 3 years of non-risk adjustment coding experience and CRC certification are also considered
• Position starts as a contractor with potential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs.
