Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Experienced Professional Coding Specialist to perform complex physician/provider coding across diverse settings, including office, hospital outpatient, ED, ASC, and telehealth. You will apply coding judgment, payer policy interpretation, and documentation standards to support compliant reimbursement and audit defensibility.

Responsibilities include resolving denials, applying NCCI concepts, and providing real-time guidance to peers.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of physician/provider professional coding experience.
• CPC or CCS-P certification required.
• Proficient in ICD10CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers.

Responsibilities

• Code complex professional encounters across multiple settings with proper sequencing and documentation.
• Resolve denials by identifying root causes and supporting rebilling actions.
• Apply payer policies and global service considerations to pro fee claims.
• Provide guidance to peers and participate in internal quality programs.
• Review documentation in the EHR and use encoder tools to improve accuracy.
