Job summary

Meduit, a national leader in healthcare revenue cycle management, seeks a Medical Coder II to accurately code hospital outpatient and professional services and analyze denials to maximize reimbursement.

This remote role offers a daytime schedule; compensation $26-$30 per hour, depending on qualifications. Candidates must have 5 years of on-the-job coding and denials experience and Epic platform expertise.

Qualifications

• 5 years of on-the-job experience in abstract coding and coding denials for hospital outpatient and professional claims.
• Payor and Policy Research experience.
• Experience with the Epic platform.
• Current certification from AAPC or AHIMA (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze patient records.
• Code for a variety of services including E/M, labs, imaging, injections, infusions, and specialty procedures in clinic and hospital outpatient settings.
• Monitor and correct claim denials within health plan requirements and document trends.
• Submit clean claims for payment.
• Comply with federal and state standards and coding guidelines.
• Find documentation in multiple EMR systems (EPIC, ECW, Cerner, Meditech).
• Interact with clients to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and information security.
• Maintain an error rate of 5% or less.
• Meet production goals assigned by supervisor.

High school diploma or equivalent

Associates degree or equivalent in Health Information Management
