Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a credentialed coder to review and assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses, procedures, and CPT codes. You will ensure correct MS-DRG/APR DRG assignments and utilize the EMR to capture clinical data for billing and compliance.

Preferred candidates have RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA/CPC certifications or equivalent and at least two years of coding experience. High school diploma required; ongoing professional development encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years coding experience preferred.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Selects and assigns ICD-10-CM diagnoses, procedures and CPT codes according to guidelines.
• Ensures correct MS-DRG/APR DRG assignment.
• Uses EMR to extract and enter data into the EHR.
