Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Remote Coder I, Professional to code medical records accurately from home. You will review patient data, assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes, and ensure adherence to Medicare and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities include resolving charge edits, supporting documentation clarification with providers, and educating teams on coding best practices. Eligible states include MO, IL, OK, and WI.

Qualifications

• Handles charge review queues and ensures timely, accurate charge capture.
• Deciphers charge errors and plans follow-up steps.
• Identifies billable services from various data sources and assigns CPT-4/ICD-10 codes.

Responsibilities

• Manages charge review, claim edit, and coding follow‑up queues.
• Reviews EHR data, inpatient/outpatient records, and docs to assign codes.
• Consults with physicians for documentation clarity and education.
• Resolves denials and trends to improve billing accuracy.
• Identifies coding trends and shares findings with leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
