Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Coder I to remotely code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 for observation, ambulatory surgeries, outpatient settings, clinics, and ER encounters.

Under minimal supervision, you will research medical necessity and LMPRPs, with preferred qualifications including an HFIM degree or RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCA credentials and related outpatient coding experience.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Course work in Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology required.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management.
• Less than one year outpatient coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Code for observation, ambulatory surgeries, outpatient procedures, outpatient clinics and ER encounters.
• Research medical necessity needs and LMPRPs.
• Work under minimal technical or managerial supervision.
