Sanford Health Careers in Fargo, ND seeks a healthcare coder to interpret, analyze and abstract clinical data for ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding. You will review medical records, ensure accurate documentation and support appropriate reimbursement across hospital and ambulatory settings.

The role requires an associate degree in health information technology or coding certification, with a certification in RHIA/RHIT or CPC family preferred and a requirement to obtain certification within one

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required.
• If the associate is not certified at hire, the associate must be certified within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, analyze and abstract data/documentation for ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Review and audit medical record documentation to substantiate appropriate reimbursement.
• Explain coding guidelines to physicians and other healthcare providers to improve documentation accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards in coding activities.
