Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a remote role open to applicants nationwide.

You will review and process medical claims, verify CPT/ICD-10 data, and submit claims to payers while resolving rejections and ensuring timely follow-ups. You will collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve issues, stay updated on payer rules, and uphold HIPAA and privacy guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing practices, insurance processes and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims for services to ensure accurate billing to payers and patients.
• Verify billing information including CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and demographics.
• Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or on paper as required.
• Resolve claim rejections and errors by correcting and resubmitting promptly.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims and initiate follow-up or re-bill as needed.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve issues.
• Generate claims and statements as dictated by scope.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stay current with billing regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
